WHAT IS Personality DIMENSIONS®? Personality DIMENSIONS® is a human relations tool based on leading-edge research into human motivation and behavior. Building on the work of Carl Jung, Myers-Briggs, David Keirsy, Linda Berens, and Don Lowry (True Colors); Personality DIMENSIONS® is being heralded as the “next generation” in temperament assessment. Learning style theory was also considered in the development and delivery of the tool. Published in 2003 and reviewed annually; its research, studies, and methods are always up-to-date. Personality DIMENSIONS® helps you and your students understand why others behave the way they do and why they don’t always see and do things the same way you do. Although each of us can and does use all temperament styles, Personality DIMENSIONS® identifies each individual’s preferred style. It uses colors to identify those preferred temperaments:
HOW IS IT PRESENTED?
Personality DIMENSIONS® is presented in an interactive, informative, entertaining, group format. Groups of 16 to 25 are ideal.
The strength of this tool is that it focuses on interactive self-discovery prior to any “expert feedback” being offered. It is presented in
true “workshop” format in that participants do most of the work. There is no spoon-feeding involved. This format results in participants
taking ownership of the findings and immediately applying them to their everyday lives, theirs studies and their career planning activities. WHAT CAN PD DO FOR OUR EDUCATORS? Personality DIMENSIONS® is a vehicle for educators to become aware of their own strengths and values as well as the strengths and values of their students. Using PD, educators can help students excel and prepare them for a rapidly changing world of work. The ability to work well in teams and groups, as well as independently is increasingly important in preparing students for their life path. Benefits to Educators
